Meet Conner!

Welcome fellow zoogoers! My name is Conner, a current senior in High School, eager to explore the zoo and the outside world!

Throughout my entire life, I have been fascinated with nature and the world that we live in. From a young age, I had always dreamed that one day I would find a career working with and around animals. That’s why I took the initiative to apply for the San Diego Zoo’s InternQuest program, to have an inside look on the many available career possibilities. Preparing myself for my future in the animal sciences, I joined the Future Farmers of America Organization, FFA, at the start of my freshmen year. My involvement in FFA has given me knowledge and experience of the agriculture industry as well leadership skills that I may use for the rest of my life. Following my high school graduation, I plan to continue my dream and education studying animal science and wildlife conservation at the University of California – Davis.

I embrace my inner “hick” as I enjoy country music and raising different species of livestock. Mostly, I spend a majority of my free time raising and training market hogs throughout the year and showing them at multiple county fairs. I also have been involved in dairy production and serve as a member of the Dairy Judging team in my FFA Chapter as well as Chapter Vice-President.

When not studying for the next test or watching The Lion King, you can find me on some type of adventure. I enjoy a variety of things including camping, hiking, swimming, photography, attending any concert that I can, or simply taking time to relax with a nice nap.

I can’t wait for the adventure that I will embark upon at the San Diego Zoo! I hope you continue to follow along with me in this experience of a lifetime!
