Meet Drea!

Zoo InternQuest is a seven-week career exploration program for San Diego County high school juniors and seniors. Students have the unique opportunity to meet professionals working for the San Diego Zoo, Safari Park, and Institute for Conservation Research, learn about their jobs, and then blog about their experience online. Follow their adventures here on the Zoo’s website!

Hello my name is Drea! I am a junior in high school. I am super excited to be a part of this incredible program. Animals have always been very interesting to me growing up and as a child I thought I wanted to work with animals. As soon as I heard of this internship, I did my best to get accepted. I believe being in this internship will really open my eyes to all of the different jobs working with animals.

When I am not thinking about what I want to be, I am very involved in my community. I am involved in student government, a program called Friday Night Live (FNL), which is about drug awareness, and I also like to play volleyball. I have grown to love to play the guitar and the ukulele, and hopefully, will learn to play the piano soon.

As a junior, I am very excited for what InternQuest has planned for the next 7 weeks. Hopefully you’ll follow me by reading my blogs a long with the others.
