For quite a few years, a group of fans of our Panda Cam have coordinated their own panda-lovers convention here in San Diego, and Panda-monium 2016 is right around the corner. Everyone is invited to join in the panda-rrific fun March 18 and 19, 2016. For full details and to register, email pandaconvention@yahoo.com.
Because we appreciate the passion and support of our panda fans, the San Diego Zoo is pleased to let you know about this event. Here’s a glimpse at what’s in store this year:
- Friday evening, March 18: Meet and greet at the Residence Inn/Mission Valley. Pick up name tags and T-shirts. Meet new panda fans and greet your old friends. Bring your Panda Project and wear your Best Black-and-White Attire; awards will be given in those two categories that evening.
- Saturday, March 19: A full day at the San Diego Zoo, with a hosted breakfast and lunch, a special presentation, and, of course panda watching! In the evening, we’ll gather at the home of a gracious, panda-loving couple in Coronado for dinner.
- Sunday, March 20: Some folks have signed up for the Zoo’s Early Morning with Pandas tour. If you want to get in on that, you can sign up on the Zoo website—space is limited.
